People in the field of deafness have heard the idea of someone being implanted described in a number of ways as a miracle all the way to genocide and everything in between. In this webinar, we will examine the benefits of a cochlear implant and how one qualifies for the procedure. What are the realistic expectations and how does the implant impact the person’s standing in the Deaf Community.

David has provided interpreting services on the college level, medical, legal, and governmental situations. He serves as an RID Local Test Administrator. He is a member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, the Louisiana Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, and the Louisiana Association of the Deaf and International Leadership Association. He has conducted workshops on the national, state, and local level in the areas of sign language interpreter training, leadership and interpreting ethics, and American Sign Language training.
